Why
Not My Way?
Since Cain and
Abel, the great issue in life has been, "Will I
do it God's way or my way?" Whether we are
conscious of it or not, there is a constant
battle of wills that provokes this question. But
why can't we live our own lives as long as we
make a positive contribution to society? Aren't
all sincere efforts acceptable to God?
Here are some points for you to
consider............

God has a plan to reach mankind and
to relate to us, a plan initiated by God.
"For God so loved the
world that He gave His only Son, that whoever would
believe in Him, would have eternal life." John 3:16
Jesus claimed to be God in the flesh
communicating God's love to us.
"I and the Father are
one." John 10:30
If Jesus is God, then He has the
every right to claim that He is the only way.
"I am the way, and
the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but
through me." John 14:6
No one can reach God independently by
their own plan.
"There is none who
does good, not even one." Romans 3:12
Jesus is better anyway, because He
offers eternal life as a free gift (cannot be earned by
adopting a new code of ethics or meeting religious
standards.)
"For the wages of sin
is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in
Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23
Jesus doesn't just command you to
live right, He is offers to live inside you.
"....... Christ in
you the hope of glory." Colossians 1:26-27
"I came that they might have life and have it more
abundantly." John 10:10
Jesus isn't just another better than
ever forgiveness plan; He is the power to live a Godly
life, His life, already built into us.
"But we have this
treasure in earthen vessels, that the surpassing
greatness of the power may be of God and not of
ourselves." ll Corinthians 4:7
Jesus wants relationship: to be one
Spirit with us, as He is with the Father.
"He that is joined to
the Lord, is one Spirit with Him." l Corinthians 6:17
"That they may all be one; as thou Father, are in me,
and I in thee, that they also may be one in us........ "
John 17:21
Jesus births His new life into us, to
live the Christ life through us.
".... Unless a man is born of water and the Spirit, he
cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. That which is born
of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the
Spirit is spirit. Don't not marvel that I said to you,
'You must be born again'." John 3:5-7
"Independent unsaved I" has been
permanently crucified with Jesus...............
nevertheless I still live, yet not I as a separated
being........ but the Spirit of Christ lives as one
Spirit with my spirit .......... and the life I now live
in my mortal body, I live by His faith .........as He
uniquely expresses Himself through my personality.
amplified paraphrase of Galatians 2:20
Jesus wants us to believe in Him and
invite Him in as Lord.
"Without faith it is
impossible to please God." Hebrews 11:6
"Behold, I stand at the door and knock, if anyone hears
my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with
him, and he with Me." Revelation 3:20
Lord Jesus, I admit that I cannot be good enough to earn
your love and acceptance. I turn from trying to manage
my life in my own efforts and choose to trust you to
forgive my unbelief, based on your death on the cross
for me. I ask you to come into my life as Lord God and
live the Christian life through me, as I cannot do it
separated from you.
I
choose to yield to you day by day, your all knowing, all
powerful and always present wisdom is everything that I
need. I choose to know you and agree with your plans and
wonderful purposes for me. I trust that you are inside
me now equipping me in every way that you want to
express your heart in me and to a needy world through
me. There is nothing more important to me than a
relationship with you Jesus; you are my source.
