Separated New Age God or Intimate Indwelling Jesus?
As
I was talking with my assistant, Christa, I was reminded
of how many people today grew up believing that God is
an impersonal force, without emotion, who set the world
in motion and does not intervene in the lives of those
He has created. But ... Maybe we all need to examine our
beliefs and see if we believe in the separated
impersonal God who is rarely ever there for us. Its time
to take a fresh look at our own beliefs and see if we
are receiving the intimate, indwelling relationship that
Jesus came to offer us. Lets compare the new age
(NA) God with the (IIJ)
intimate, inside Jesus of the New Testament.
God: a universal power or a loving
Daddy?
New
Age (NA): God is a universal power setting his
principles in place in the world, is in everyone, is not
separate from anyone and we must all become aware that
his good in us already.
Intimate indwelling Jesus (IIJ): God offers us the
choice of a Daddy relationship with Him as we invite Him
into our life to abide inside us, direct us, fulfill us
in specific purposes, spiritual gifts and to equip us
for His plans for us.
Jesus: impersonal outside or a person
inside?
NA:
Jesus is not really God incarnate who has a life,
intelligence, individual love or power inside me. Jesus
merely a greater "awareness" that we can all have to the
same extent.
IIJ: Jesus is expressing his personality, life, mind,
his boundless love and power in an unlimited way through
me, and as me. I am not living my life for Him but "our"
life, because He is living through me.
Divine Spirit: mental assent to
principles or two spirits united?
NA:
We use principles to develop mental understanding and
awareness, establishing the perfect idea of the divine
mind in us.
IIJ: We are transformed by a miraculous change of our
identity when we are born again as a brand new creature,
as our new spirit is quickened to life as we invited
Jesus/ His Holy Spirit to live in us. As we become one
with Him, we are changed into His likeness.
Sin and guilt: are non-existent or
point us to our need for a Savior?
NA:
Sin and guilt do not exist but were part of the Savior
delusions that Jesus had. God does not feel anger with
"disobedient children" and would never require a blood
sacrifice.
IIJ: We are not perfect and holy gods but in need of
reconciliation with God. We can choose to attempt to pay
for our sins ourselves (forever, separated from God) or
accept the fact that Jesus Christ took our punishment,
paid our debt for our sin, and died in our stead.
Resurrected life: reincarnation (try
again) or eternal life in us now?
NA:
We are reincarnated over and over to pick up where we
left off, working out our problems and bad karma until
we are perfected.
IIJ: Because we are helpless to make ourselves perfect,
Jesus gives us a new life, His spirit and a new personal
spirit as a gift with our salvation. We are transformed
by His power as we choose to let Him transform our souls
to line up with His Spirit in us. We have a new past and
a new future because He alone can give true eternal
life.
Good works: automatic or the fruit of
unity with Jesus?
NA:
As the whole world becomes aware that we are all good,
we will automatically usher in the new "good" millennium
we are already capable of having.
IIJ: With all of the fruit of the Spirit inside of us
and all the power of the Godhead, in Jesus Christ in us,
we can choose to operate in union with Him, and bear
eternal fruit.
Earning God's love: God does not feel
emotions or faith pleases God?
NA:
God is an intangible, invisible something that we call
life and draw our emotions from but he does not choose
either "to love" or "not to love" anyone.
IIJ: God has demonstrated His ability to feel every
emotion, deal with every temptation and to overcome even
death. He has done everything necessary to establish a
guilt free love relationship with us. All we have to do
is believe and receive His loving gift.
If you knew that you
could have an intimate personal relationship with God
through Jesus Christ, would you be willing to repent of
trying to be self-sufficient, living in your own
strength without God and receive that personal
relationship?
Please let us know.
Blessings, Carlotta
