Many people, who come to Cross Walk
Life, believe that they have already worked
through their childhood hurts - until Mother's
Day or Father's Day.
They have endeavored to forgive, to stop blaming
and condemning others or themselves. Yet, on
Mother's Day or Father's Day, their buttons are
pushed again and they realize that there are
still walls protecting unhealed areas in their
hearts.
Many
also feel somewhat separated from God because of
the bruises left on their personal spirit, by
those hurtful experiences in the past.
The ability of their spirit to trust was
stunted. Their ability to hold their heart open
in new relationships was hampered by the guilt,
estrangement, rejection, fear of punishment or
the neglect of their old relationships. They
have been forgiven and have forgiven others, but
still need the healing touch of Jesus to
actually give them a new heart, in order to
celebrate Father's Day.
Often, we forget our own early decisions
to indulge in sinful reactions and sinful
behaviors.
Little children
are never to blame when they are abused but some
of us were older and are being held accountable
for the times when we chose to harbor bitterness
in our hearts. We knowingly chose to take
offense, to hold unforgiveness or bitterness, to
withhold affection, to allow resentments to
build up, to refuse restoration, to block others
when they attempt to reconcile, to keep a long
record of wrongs and yet we want to see
ourselves as purely the innocent victim.
In any case, we may have to choose to
trust Jesus to restore our ability to hold our
hearts open to God and others - because our
capacity to embrace love has been crippled.
Although our mind may be willing to accept God's
truth and love, our personal spirit has
unbelieving areas in it's very heart, that
quickly shrink back into a little "turtle shell"
to hide or they harden like an "armored tank,"
ready to attack. Only Jesus can restore our
ability to love with His love again.
Some
of us were deeply bruised, even as babies, and
went into rejection before we could talk.
Unfortunately, many of our beliefs today, years
later, are still based on beliefs that we
developed during traumatic times in our
childhood.
Ask God if
you had any of these pre-natal or childhood
wounds:
If you could relate
to any of the above and can see how these
bruises are still hurting in your spirit today,
Jesus has offered to take the pain out of your
experiences and replace these lies with His
truth about you. He is ready to restore your
disabled heart with a new one and to enable you
to relate to your Heavenly Father and others in
wholeness. Could I (Carlotta Waldmann) pray for
you now?
Dear Heavenly Father, I ask You in
the name of Jesus, to tell ___________ that they
are chosen, planned and are the apple of your
eye...... that you have dreams and purposes for
them....... that you came to redeem every
hurtful experience ..... and to make those weak
places strong ..... that they are a joy and
delight to you, precious in your sight.
I ask you, Holy Spirit, to pour
healing oil into all their wounds and massage it
in until they stop hurting....... to hold them
until they accept your embrace and rest in your
strong arms...... I ask you to rewrite their
identity with the truths of your unconditional
love and acceptance. Forgive them for every
unforgiveness, judgment and bitter expectation
that they sowed, so that they will not have to
reap them. Help them to forgive themselves for
buying into these lies all these years. Loose
them now from all the effects of these wounds
and give them new hearts and new ground to sow
new seeds into.
Dear Father, enable them to receive
your heart to restore them from all the injuries
that the choices of others caused. Give them the
courage to choose to receive your love,
restoration and YOUR PLAN for their life now.
May they know the fulfillment of being your
child, who is loved and accepted, totally
forgiven and fully pleasing to you. Take their
shame, guilt and fears, Lord, and give them a
double portion of your vision and blessing.
Thank you, Jesus
Isa 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me;
because the LORD has anointed me to bring good
news to the humble; he has sent me to heal the
brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the
captives, and to open the prison for them that
are bound;........7 For your shame you shall
have a double portion; and instead of being
confused, you will rejoice in your double
portion: therefore in your land you shall
possess double and everlasting joy shall be
yours. (paraphrased by Carlotta)
